Officials – Without referees, there is no game.

Please show respect to our match officials, they are there supporting the beautiful game.

The Limestone Coast Football Referees Association (LCFRA) understands that refereeing can be a challenging task. We are dedicated to making your journey as simple and rewarding as possible. Follow these few simple steps and you will be on your way to becoming a valued match official!

Step 1: Learn more about the game and complete the free online test to receive a ‘Laws of the Game’ certificate from playfootball.com.au (PlayFootball account / login required)

Step 2: Register online for a Level 4 Refereeing Course. To find a course near you, please select from the options listed on the Football SA Refereeing page: https://www.footballsa.com.au/referee-resources

Step 3: Once you have completed a Level 4 Refereeing Course, and officiated 2-3 LCFA junior games, contact the LCFRA for a practical assessment officiating a match.

Step 4: Once assessed as ‘competent’ you will receive your Level 4 Certificate. Details will then be passed on to Level 4 Referees regarding online registration for the Football SA Referees Association (optional) after which you will be sent details on how to obtain your referees uniform, flags, whistle and match cards.
